Life in the fast lane- Gold level play continues in Bay Area for famous local road-warriors

FC Samoa has (as part of its mission) to expose serious scholar-athletes to the highest levels of d1 soccer in the State. It is the only proven road to College-prep. The Nor Cal Premier league provides a one-game a week vehicle(we double up games for travel economy)for long-term soccer development. Teams who win Bronze or Silver (as we did) are moved up to the next level. Life in the fast lane refers to the fact that at Gold level EVERY athlete is selected on speed, most clubs have 2 or 3 teams at each age level (fighting for their spots)and that the coaching is very focused, driven, and professional.

FC Samoa Girls Secure Gold in Redwood Classic

FC Samoa’s U14 Girls competed in Mad River’s Redwood Classic this past weekend, taking the Gold in a dramatic final, Sunday August 21st.  After struggling in the first rounds on Saturday, Samoa rebounded with an assertive third round 4-0 win Sunday morning versus Redding Missfit Fusion.  Highlights included three goals by Kaitlin Rodriquez, and one goal by Claire Bareilles. This win qualified Samoa to move on to the division finals in the afternoon versus the undefeated Redding Missfit Adrenaline, a very aggressive and talented team.  Samoa’s Olivia Ritter secured the first goal on a stellar direct kick, and the Adrenaline responded shortly after.  A tremendous defensive team effort kept these teams tied through two overtime periods, and FC Samoa prevailed in penalty kicks.  Goalie Wars Champion, Maddie Pomerantz turned back three penalty kicks, and Samoa hit all of there’s, securing the victory.
